Game week 12 predictions !
Leicester VS Chelsea (12:30 pm)
The lunch time kickoff has the potential to be the game of the weekend with both teams sharing the points on their last outing. Leicester will be desperate for all 3 points not to fall even further behind the pace of the top four and potentially a win can kick start their season. Chelsea however will be looking to extend the gap a the top of the table to six points albeit even if it’s only for a matter of hours.
Prediction : Leicester 2-1 Chelsea.
Newcastle VS Brentford (3PM)
Eddie Howe’s first game in charge of Newcastle for me couldn’t come against better opposition. The Magpies will be hoping that New manager bounce will be in full swing against a Brentford side who have lost there last four games. Howe will be hoping to implement his attacking philosophy onto Newcastle will have the advantage of having worked with Fraser and Wilson who flourished under him and if he can get them and Saint-Maximin scoring they’ll rocket up the table.
Prediction: Newcastle 1-0 Brentford.
Burnley vs Crystal Palace (3pm)
Burnley come into this game in the best form of their season so far with 2 draws and win in their last 3 premier league games including a surprise draw at Stamford Bridge where they nearly stole all 3. However this new Crystal Palace side is not to be underestimated unbeaten in there last six which include a win at the Eithad and a draw at the Emirates where they were unlucky to fall at the last to a last minute equaliser. However in this game I believe the south Londoners will snatch all three the form of Gallagher will be the turning point , his willingness to run beyond the ball will allow palace to have space by pulling Burnley’s rigid defensive block apart.
Prediction : Burnley 0-1 Crystal Palace.
Aston Villa VS Brighton (3pm)
One of three mangers this weekend taking charge of their first games at new clubs Steven Gerrard must get this Aston Villa star studded attack firing. With the likes of Ings, Watkins and Bailey Villa should be scoring for fun but none of the three for-mentioned have really mad their mark this season thus far. If the Liverpool legend is to get them scoring by getting another summer signing Emi Bundeia performing villas record signing has not showed any of last seasons creativity which perhaps explains the form of there attacking line not setting world alike like expected. Brighton have also struggled with finding the back of the net but this weekend have a real opportunity to change their fortunes with a leaky and inconsistent Villa defence. Ever since Brighton’s introduction to the premier league they have never struggled to create chances but this weekend they must put them away and what an opportunity.
Prediction: Aston Villa 2-2 Brighton
Watford Vs Manchester United
Another crucial game in the future of Ole and if Man United fail to win I think he loses the remaining of the fan base behind him. Watford are no mugs either putting in a resilient performance against Arsenal and while the score was 0-0 had some decent chances where with better quality could’ve snatched a win. Here though I believe United’s quality will be to strong and fully expect Ronaldo to run riot and win United the points once again.
Prediction: Watford 0-3 Man United
Wolves Vs West Ham (3pm)
The hammers are absolutely rocking at the moment and a win could rise them joint top if Chelsea lose at Leicester or second if the result doesn’t go their way. Wolves are a bit of an unpredictable side this season where a comfortable win against Everton is followed up with an uninspiring loss at Palace. I find this really difficult to call so I’m going to give Wolves the advantage as they’re at home and haven’t lost at home since August.
Prediction: Wolves 1-0 West Ham
Southampton vs Norwich (3pm)
Dean smith will have a point to prove in this game coming up against the time who put the final nail in his coffin. Norwich despite there at times pathetic displays are not a bad side and are in this division deservedly . Their win against Brentford will give them real confidence they can grab another win especially as they done something at times we all thought they’d never do, keep a clean sheet ! Southampton however come into this in good form unbeaten in 4 games having kept a clean sheet in 3 of them and with Norwich not being the most prolific I see this going one way and one way only.
Prediction: Saints 2-0 Norwich
Liverpool vs Arsenal (5:30pm)
Despite my blog yesterday I do not honestly believe Arsenal will manage to win this weekend. Although they have been in great form and are more than capable to I think it’s to much to soon for the gunners. Liverpool do have injuries but Arsenal’s away form at the ‘Big Six’ is atrocious espically Liverpool. Anfield is a daunting place and I see Arsenal’s young guns falling back down to earth.
Prediction: Liverpool 3-1 Arsenal
Manchester City VS Everton (Sun 2pm)
Manchester City found it all to easy at Old Trafford two weeks ago and even city fans will admit that was far from their best performance. I really fill despite city not signing a striker they are simply too good for anyone else to win the league and with everton missing most of their key players I don’t see the points going anywhere bar Manchester.
Prediction: City 3-0 Everton
Spurs vs Leeds (sun 4:30pm)
Antonio Contes first home league game and I expect his team to be well drilled and maybe show signs of his tactics from the time he’s had over the international break. Leeds are also not the same outfit they were last year and are suffering from second season syndrome and for me a realistic goal for them this season is survival despite their squad and form from last season. Spurs will be hoping Harry Kane’s 7 goals in 126 minutes for England will allow his club form to finally turn on its head and fire them to glory .
Prediction : Spurs 4-1 Leeds.
