Game week 12 predictions!

Game week 12 predictions !

Leicester VS Chelsea (12:30 pm)

The lunch time kickoff has the potential to be the game of the weekend with both teams sharing the points on their last outing. Leicester will be desperate for all 3 points not to fall even further behind the pace of the top four and potentially a win can kick start their season. Chelsea however will be looking to extend the gap a the top of the table to six points albeit even if it’s only for a matter of hours.
Prediction : Leicester 2-1 Chelsea.

Newcastle VS Brentford (3PM)

Eddie Howe’s first game in charge of Newcastle for me couldn’t come against better opposition. The Magpies will be hoping that New manager bounce will be in full swing against a Brentford side who have lost there last four games. Howe will be hoping to implement his attacking philosophy onto Newcastle will have the advantage of having worked with Fraser and Wilson who flourished under him and if he can get them and Saint-Maximin scoring they’ll rocket up the table.
Prediction: Newcastle 1-0 Brentford.

Burnley vs Crystal Palace (3pm)

Burnley come into this game in the best form of their season so far with 2 draws and win in their last 3 premier league games including a surprise draw at Stamford Bridge where they nearly stole all 3. However this new Crystal Palace side is not to be underestimated unbeaten in there last six which include a win at the Eithad and a draw at the Emirates where they were unlucky to fall at the last to a last minute equaliser. However in this game I believe the south Londoners will snatch all three the form of Gallagher will be the turning point , his willingness to run beyond the ball will allow palace to have space by pulling Burnley’s rigid defensive block apart.
Prediction : Burnley 0-1 Crystal Palace.

Aston Villa VS Brighton (3pm)

One of three mangers this weekend taking charge of their first games at new clubs Steven Gerrard must get this Aston Villa star studded attack firing. With the likes of Ings, Watkins and Bailey Villa should be scoring for fun but none of the three for-mentioned have really mad their mark this season thus far. If the Liverpool legend is to get them scoring by getting another summer signing Emi Bundeia performing villas record signing has not showed any of last seasons creativity which perhaps explains the form of there attacking line not setting world alike like expected. Brighton have also struggled with finding the back of the net but this weekend have a real opportunity to change their fortunes with a leaky and inconsistent Villa defence. Ever since Brighton’s introduction to the premier league they have never struggled to create chances but this weekend they must put them away and what an opportunity.
Prediction: Aston Villa 2-2 Brighton

Watford Vs Manchester United

Another crucial game in the future of Ole and if Man United fail to win I think he loses the remaining of the fan base behind him. Watford are no mugs either putting in a resilient performance against Arsenal and while the score was 0-0 had some decent chances where with better quality could’ve snatched a win. Here though I believe United’s quality will be to strong and fully expect Ronaldo to run riot and win United the points once again.
Prediction: Watford 0-3 Man United

Wolves Vs West Ham (3pm)

The hammers are absolutely rocking at the moment and a win could rise them joint top if Chelsea lose at Leicester or second if the result doesn’t go their way. Wolves are a bit of an unpredictable side this season where a comfortable win against Everton is followed up with an uninspiring loss at Palace. I find this really difficult to call so I’m going to give Wolves the advantage as they’re at home and haven’t lost at home since August.
Prediction: Wolves 1-0 West Ham

Southampton vs Norwich (3pm)

Dean smith will have a point to prove in this game coming up against the time who put the final nail in his coffin. Norwich despite there at times pathetic displays are not a bad side and are in this division deservedly . Their win against Brentford will give them real confidence they can grab another win especially as they done something at times we all thought they’d never do, keep a clean sheet ! Southampton however come into this in good form unbeaten in 4 games having kept a clean sheet in 3 of them and with Norwich not being the most prolific I see this going one way and one way only.
Prediction: Saints 2-0 Norwich

Liverpool vs Arsenal (5:30pm)

Despite my blog yesterday I do not honestly believe Arsenal will manage to win this weekend. Although they have been in great form and are more than capable to I think it’s to much to soon for the gunners. Liverpool do have injuries but Arsenal’s away form at the ‘Big Six’ is atrocious espically Liverpool. Anfield is a daunting place and I see Arsenal’s young guns falling back down to earth.
Prediction: Liverpool 3-1 Arsenal

Manchester City VS Everton (Sun 2pm)

Manchester City found it all to easy at Old Trafford two weeks ago and even city fans will admit that was far from their best performance. I really fill despite city not signing a striker they are simply too good for anyone else to win the league and with everton missing most of their key players I don’t see the points going anywhere bar Manchester.
Prediction: City 3-0 Everton

Spurs vs Leeds (sun 4:30pm)

Antonio Contes first home league game and I expect his team to be well drilled and maybe show signs of his tactics from the time he’s had over the international break. Leeds are also not the same outfit they were last year and are suffering from second season syndrome and for me a realistic goal for them this season is survival despite their squad and form from last season. Spurs will be hoping Harry Kane’s 7 goals in 126 minutes for England will allow his club form to finally turn on its head and fire them to glory .
Prediction : Spurs 4-1 Leeds.

3 Points at Anfield?

3 Points at Anfield?

This Forthcoming Saturday evening Arsenal travel to Merseyside to play Liverpool in the five-thirty kick-off.

It’s not been the most fruitful of travelling spots for the gunners of late with their last 3 points coming in August of 2012 in a 2-0 victory. However Mikel Arteta’s men are starting to play and perform how he had envisioned when he took over and are now unbeaten in 10 in all competitions. Here our a couple of reasons I think could be potential gateways to a shock win for Arsenal.

First of all The new back five of arsenal (Ramsdale , Tomiyasu, White , Gabriel and Tierney/Naveres) have been in some real great form with Ramsdale and Gabriel shining more than others. In Past encounters Arsenal defensive back lines have rolled over and been slaughtered but this back line seems to love defending before anything else. Isee this as there first big test together as a group.

Injuries are also a big cause of concern for Liverpool with Henderson , Mane and Robertson all doubtful for the game. Despite all this Liverpool to have more than capable players to fill in. However with arsenal full fit barring potentially Thomas Partey which will be a hammer blow they must seize on this opportunity and run at Liverpool and use Henderson’s absence to dominate in midfield because if Salah is giving service on current form he is the best player in the world.

Carrying on with Salah arsenal must double up and not allow him to run at the back line. Tactical fouls in non dangerous areas thus not allowing arsenal to get stretched.

Aubameyang is going to be starved of service and may only have one or two half chances in the game so he must discover his old form and his home form from so far this season so we’re not to be left licking our wounds come Saturday dinner time. And that sums it all up.

10 out of 10 for Southgate but times for decisions

10 out of 10 for Southgate but times for decisions.

Once Again England have effortlessly qualified for another major tournament , with Captain Harry Kane spearheading the side breaking many a record along the way.

With the World Cup in Qatar little over a year away Gareth Southgate has the pleasant but difficult task of choosing a squad of 23. Here is a few of my potentially controversial selections and opinions of decisions he may have to make.

In attack everything is set in stone with captain Harry Kane a dead certainty along with Raheem Sterling albeit injury aside. I believe a difficult decision the Three Lions manager will have to make is who will he use as an impact player from the bench with Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Tammy Abraham being the go to guys as of late. With this being the case I feel Toffees striker just pips Roma’s new signing, despite Abraham being Chelsea’s top scorer the last two seasons ( 18&12) with limited game time my personal opinion is DCL is much more dominant in the air and is playing with a confidence and swagger (before his injury) about his game which Abraham has never shown and I always feel Abraham is trying to hard.

Southgate next decision with be weather he plays 3-4-3 or a 4-3-3 or possibly alternating between the two like he did last summer at Euro 2020. Therefore deciding who plays in front of preferred pairing Rice and Phillips. For me in the 10 role it will probably be mason Mount and he has been selected more often than not but on the left I think Saka is a better choice than Grealish. This is due to Saka’s ability to put in a near perfect end product into the box every time and with Harry Kane on the end of it 9 times out of 10 will end in a goal for England.

Right back/Wing back has been a major discussion point for many fans and pundit alike. My point of view is Reece James starts his delivery is as good as Alexander-Arnold’s in which many fans of him argue he should be starting for England. I also think James defensively is much better with many of the more skilful and tricky wingers in the Premier League being able to get the better of TAA.

In goal seems to be similar to the attack with it being a straight forward decision however the rise of Ramsdale this season could potentially alter the managers mind if he continues his form in the World Cup squad being announced. But Pickford for England is a completely different player to when he plays for his club and performances at the last two major tournaments showing why he is England’s number one.

“And that sums it all up”
